The American Society on Aging, in collaboration with the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, is offering organizations and individuals a flexible, affordable way to train all levels of staff. The two flagship courses, Fundamentals of Gerontology and Managing Health and Chronic Conditions in Older Adults are back in April.
Each five-week online course is taught by USC faculty members, the nation’s leading experts in aging and gerontology. Specialists in healthcare, chronic disease management, dementia/mental health, and medication management share information, best practices and effective models that are readily applicable to the work you are already doing!
Since launching this program two years ago, ASA has noticed a pattern in course participation, a pattern that indicates that this curriculum can have a potentially positive impact on how organizations work with older adults. Not to mention, a certificate of completion provided by USC to document learning. ASA is also offering 10 CEUs per course from select accreditation providers.
Here’s what organizational leaders are saying about the USC/ASA Online Courses –
“Innovative online courses presented by the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology and the American Society on Aging provided members of the Los Angeles Department of Aging management team with valuable evidence-based aging knowledge, said Department General Manager Laura Trejo.
Trejo, who graduated from USC in 1982 and returned to receive her Master of Science in Gerontology and Master of Public Administration in 1987, said her team was able to immediately apply what they learned in the course to their vital work serving the older adults of Los Angeles.”
It’s not too late to enroll: the next sessions start April 17, 2017. To learn more, visit http://www.asaging.org/online-gerontology-courses.
