New Geriatric Psychology Services Available in Collaboration of USC Gerontology and USC Medicine
Dr. Knight will be available to see older adult patients at the Internal Medicine office at USC Keck School of Medicine (HCC II Building) on Friday afternoons starting February, 2014. He is available for screening of psychological disorders including but not limited to dementia, depression, and anxiety and for psychotherapy related to depression, anxiety, and other psychological issues including those arising from caregiving stress and from marital conflicts.
Bob G. Knight, Ph.D., a clinical geropsychologist, is the Merle H. Bensinger Professor of Gerontology and Professor of Psychology and Medicine at USC’s Davis School of Gerontology University of Southern California. He also serves as Director of the Tingstad Older Adult Counseling Center on the University Park campus.
He has published extensively in mental health and aging, including Psychotherapy with older adults (Sage, 3rd ed. 2004, available in French, Dutch, Japanese, and Chinese translations). The book is used widely in the US and internationally as a text on this topic. He has several national awards related to his work in clinical Geropsychology including: American Psychological Association’s Committee on Aging Award for the Advancement of Psychology and Aging, 2009 and the M. Powell Lawton Award for Distinguished Contributions to Clinical Geropsychology, Society of Clinical Geropsychology, 2012.
