An anonymous USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology alumna recently returned to campus for a visit after not visiting the school since graduating with her PhD in Gerontology in the late 1990s. After graduation, the donor eventually went on to serve in executive positions in healthcare. She enjoyed a distinguished career in aging and healthcare services before retiring at the end of 2025.
She arrived at USC with both master of science and medical degrees before specializing in biodemography and population health at the USC Leonard Davis School. She fondly remembers her time learning from and conducting research with University Professor and AARP Chair in Gerontology Eileen Crimmins.
“I appreciate the learning opportunity and rigorous training on aging from USC Gero,” she said. “I have applied the aging knowledge along with medical knowledge to improve US healthcare. I am delighted to have the opportunity to make a contribution to support Gero programs.”
She made a generous donation to support the Davis School with the creation of a new Charitable Remainder Unitrust (CRUT) – a life income gift that can help individuals save on capital gains taxes and provide an immediate tax deduction while also making a meaningful gift to benefit USC and the Leonard Davis School.
“It is always gratifying and inspiring to see successful alumni give back to their alma mater and pay it forward,” said USC Leonard Davis School Dean Pinchas Cohen.
