What do you do if you can’t locate a movement disorder specialist (MDS) in your area? If you do see an MDS, should you still visit your general neurologist? There are many things to consider when choosing a Parkinson’s doctor. In this webinar, we’ll discuss the types of physicians who care for people with Parkinson’s disease. We’ll provide tips for finding a doctor that best fits your individual needs and we’ll share ways to best prepare for your appointments and how to communicate with your healthcare professionals to optimize your care.
Our panel will feature Cindy Zadikoff, MD, MSc, an associate professor of neurology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and one of the movement disorders neurologists on the multidisciplinary team at the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Northwestern University, Carey Christensen, Michael J. Fox Foundation Patient Council and person with PD, and Margarita Llibre Rogers, Parkinson’s disease advocate. This webinar is moderated by Soania Mathur who is a family physician who had to resign her practice as a result of her Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease a full twelve years after her diagnosis at age 27. Now she is a dedicated speaker, writer, educator and Parkinson’s advocate. Soania serves as co-chair of The Michael J. Fox foundation patient council and is a member of The Brian Grant Foundation advisory board.
