{"id":483,"date":"2015-07-06T20:12:45","date_gmt":"2015-07-06T20:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fcscgero.org\/?p=483"},"modified":"2015-07-06T20:12:45","modified_gmt":"2015-07-06T20:12:45","slug":"stress%e2%80%90busting-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gero.usc.edu\/centers\/fcsc\/2015\/07\/06\/stress%e2%80%90busting-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Stress\u2010Busting Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last month\u2019s newsletter introduced the \u201cStress\u2010Busting Program (SBP) for Family Caregivers.\u201d SBP is an evidence based program aimed at helping family\u00a0caregivers who are caring for a person with\u00a0dementia or chronic illness(es).<\/p>\n<p>SBP is a nine\u2010week program designed to help\u00a0family caregivers improve their quality of life,\u00a0cope with their caregiving situation, and learn\u00a0to manage their stress. Caregivers who have\u00a0participated in this program have reported\u00a0significantly lower stress, depression, and\u00a0anxiety as well as improved quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>The USC Family Caregiver Support Center will\u00a0be the first organization in California to be\u00a0trained and certified to offer this program.
