Elie Gindi MBA, JD is a member of the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology Board of Councilors as well as a member of the Master of Arts in Gerontology Class of 2025.
Gindi received his Master of Business Administration from UCLA and his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School. After several years spent practicing law and working in real estate management, he pivoted to focus his career on aging and the needs of older adults when his father became ill and his mother sought to make their home safer and more navigable. He has served as owner and/or manager of several assisted living communities, overseeing facility remodeling and designing activity programs for residents.
In 2009, Gindi merged his experience in senior living with his interest in technology to create ElderGadget.com, a website that provided technology news and reviews of products with older adults’ needs and wants in mind. During the following years, he made numerous appearances on television and radio shows to share his expertise regarding the best consumer tech for older people. Gindi also brought his perspectives on tech and his interest in gaming into the USC Leonard Davis classroom as a part-time lecturer, teaching courses on gamification (the use of game elements and design in non-game contexts) and its potential applications for gerontology and healthy aging
