Scientific American featured research by Valter Longo of the USC Leonard Davis School that found anti-aging benefits by following a “fasting-mimicking diet” at regular intervals. Longo called it “safe, feasible and effective in reducing risk factors for aging and age-related diseases.” The study found greater benefits for overweight or obese individuals if they repeated the diet more often.
