KPCC-FM quoted Jennifer Ailshire of the USC Leonard Davis School about the need for sensitive populations – like younger adults or seniors – to actively check air quality before going outdoors and whether current Environmental Protection Agency standards for acceptable pollution levels should be reexamined. “I always wonder if the standard that’s set for the entire population is perhaps a little too high for what we would want for older populations,” she said.
