Wired spoke with Bérénice Benayoun of USC Leonard Davis on how researching the ovaries may reveal more secrets of aging.
The ovaries age faster than any other organ in the body. Figuring out how to slow down that process could have health benefits for women—and men. Benayoun, is trying to genetically engineer menopause into mice so scientists can study the biological mechanisms behind it and figure out how to offset it. “Menopause is basically the single most consequential event in a woman’s life in terms of health,” says Benayoun.
