KPCC-FM (in a Kaiser Health News story) highlighted research by Susan Enguídanos of the USC Leonard Davis School on the positive impact palliative care can have on reducing the number of hospitalizations for older adults. The story noted Enguídanos recently received a $5 million grant in partnership with Blue Shield of California to continue to study the impact of outpatient care on hospitalization rates. “The climate has changed for palliative care,” said Enguídanos.
